MarinCAN will convene and support regional collaborative meetings in each of the target Marin school districts having the largest number of students traditionally under-represented in higher education: San Rafael, Novato, Sausalito/Marin City and Shoreline.  In Novato, the MarinCAN-facilitated regional collaborative was invited to join the Novato Blue Ribbon Coalition for Youth, and is now the "Education Achievment" subcommittee.

Each collaborative will be comprised of regional nonprofit college access providers, school district leadership and interested community members, working in partnership to create: 

• A pipeline for college access that illustrates the region's pathway of access and support for youth and families, beginning in middle school through high school graduation, and onward to postsecondary education success in college and/or career. 
• A community calendar listing regional in-school and out-of-school programs available during the academic year, winter and spring breaks.
• Metrics will be identified for measuring collective goals.

The regional collaboratives will be meeting every other month, beginning in the Fall of 2011.  More information to come!
